I had no idea about her family history and her stint in hospital. I agree with Nour and if Dr Greenson did that today he would definitely lose his credibility, reputation, and job.

poor marilyn. she had no base, no roots. As i’m one of those that lived institutions for most of my childhood, i understand her need to be loved. I have no idea who’s more ‘mental’, marilyn or those who exploited her vulnerability and her body. I’ve seen her films, read some of the biographies and i does not make me happy. Even after her death people find it nessessary to earn money, finding this or that scandal. Dr Greenson, i do not know him, so i cannot judge. But… to me it seems pretty awkward to take a patient into his family (a bit late for that) and teach her all about orgasms. Nowadays such a man would lose his credibility, and his job. This man should be erased from the registers. The fact that a large dose of drugs were found in marilyn’s system (and not pills) suggest to me that Greenson injected her with dope…… instead of giving her good counseling.. as he should.

I’d say, she was a product of a very, very brutal childhood…we all know how early development determines the adult you become. The answer was already there if we look. Her growing up the way she did to live in the adrocentric society she came to fame in–its apparent. As far as her Doctor…doctors talk about lots of things in confidence that people outside the sessions do not get. As far as him talking to her about orgasms…I’d venture to say lots of doctors view an inability to enjoy sex a problem. It wasn’t as if he tried to push himself upon her.
